Learn NVivo in your own time with training customised to your needs and tailored to your project blended with an online post training component:
Group workshops have certain limitations. One-to-One training allows the trainer to customise the training around your particular project. You can learn at your own pace and at at a time and at a pace that fits with your schedule. All one-to-one days come with FULL TELEPHONE, E-MAIL AND REMOTE ACCESS LOG IN SUPPORT FOR THE LIFE OF YOUR FIRST PROJECT.
One-to-one NVivo training is much easier to organise from a calendar perspective as there are only two calendars to satisfy and the training can be customised around your particular project. This day would focus on setting up your NVivo database and making the requisite management decisions around methodology and aligning coding strategies to align with recognised data analysis methods (grounded theory, discourse analysis, content analysis, phenomenology, to name but some). It would also help make data management decisions considering which formats, or combinations of formats to work with. For example (audio vs. transcripts) and developing an analytical strategy or coding plan (cycles of coding). It would also ensure you have the requisite skills in place to get you up and running using NVivo. You would then begin the process of coding with on-line support from us. Later, we would focus on retrieval and reporting on your data. By retrieval we mean the production of a codebook and other evidence of best practice in support of your audit trail giving evidence to the cycles of coding and to demonstrate rigour in the methodology chapter, and by reporting we mean robust querying of the data to support findings with evidence in the form of good outputs from the database which may be used both as as appendices and in the body of the thesis (conceptual models, flow charts, matrices and reports).
The online element is supported by free and unlimited post training, online, one-to-one support for the life of your first project using NVivo. This support is delivered using a person-to-person, online, user friendly screen sharing system and participants are not limited by duration or frequency of calls as they incrementally apply the tools, protocols and concepts learned in the one-to-one, face-to-face session in a real research environment using their live data. We aim to schedule support calls within four working days of request. We deliver support calls during normal working hours, but also every evening up to 10:00 pm and on Saturdays, up to 6:00 pm.
