NVivo Training, Consultancy & Support - Windows & MAC
Welcome › Forums › Forums › Getting Help with Nvivo – Scroll to end to post a question › Create Case Files from Focus Groups – Mac Nvivo 14
Hello
I am looking to create cases for each individual in my focus groups.
I have an excel file which has the following data listed:
(e.g.) P23 (Female, 68, 4 acres, widowed, Milonyeni EPA, Mchinji)
Then I have 8 word documents with different questions thats formatted like:
(e.g.) P23 (Female, 68, 4 acres, widowed, Milonyeni EPA, Mchinji)
‘Sunflower’
‘We enjoy growing sunflower because after harvesting, we can take sunflower seeds to a local machine that processes them into cooking oil.’
What is the easiest way to create a case for the participants? There are 67 focus group participants then 6 interview participants.
Many thanks!
Roisin
Hi Róisín,
First review the video below which shows the steps for creating cases by speaker name from focus groups on MAC:
https://qdatraining.com/create-nvivo-cases-form-focus-groups-using-automatic-coding-by-speaker-name/
Second, please review this video which demonstrates how to import a classification sheet into NVivo for MAC. It was recorded in version 12 but the steps and wizard are identical in later versions:

I hope this response is helpful, but do let me know if you have any questions or concerns, or prefer to arrange an interactive support call to run through these steps together,
