    Hi Ben.

I am at the point of charting my focus group data. I have different types of participants. e.g. healthcare professionals and exercise professionals. I understand how to include individual participants as cases for each row, I have 28 participants in total ( 6 focus groups) I have 7 provisional categories .

Is this  the best way to continue, and then is it possible to distil down, to see what healthcare professionals are saying versus exercise professionals, or should I be grouping by participant type for each row at this point in the matrix?

    Any advise would be great.

    Thanks

    Karen

    Hi Karen,
You can group cases by attribute values (Health Professionals etc) and create them as sets (using a coding query) and then putting the sets into the Framework Matrix so you only see one group at a time. You can also drill down on common codes where all participant types are coded to compare the groups against each other. I would use a standard matrix for this rather than a Framework one for this. I hope this response is helpful, but do let me know if you have any questions or concerns, or prefer to log a call to run through these options interactively.
    Kind regards,
